So why do we practice yoga?
What is it that encourages us to get on to our mats time after time, regardless of whether or not we have time, energy or motivation?
Is it because of the numerous benefits we experience? Including reduced stress, depression and anxiety; improved emotional and physical health; better sleep; and increased levels of contentment? (in case you had forgotten!)
Or is it the joy of spending time ‘alone’ on our mat in a sacred space that we create just for ourselves?
Could it be the simple pleasure of sharing space with like-minded people?
Or maybe it’s that feeling of pure peace that descends at some point during the practice?
Whatever gets you onto your mat, spare a moment to be grateful, because every time we get roll out our mat and do our practice, we are gifting ourselves enhanced health on every level – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
